LED RELAMPING AND ENERGY TRANSITION
What is Relamping?
Relamping involves replacing a conventional light bulb system with an LED system to reduce energy consumption. A solution that can significantly increase the life of a bulb (and therefore reduce maintenance costs) but also reduce its energy consumption.
Lighting and sustainable development
Because lighting is a major expense, about 30% of the energy bill of a tertiary building, regulating its energy consumption becomes a major issue.
Faced with these challenges, lighting has been experiencing a real regulatory and technological revolution since 2009, driven by progressive directives from the European Union:
- the progressive ban on incandescent lamps and halogen lamps between 2013 and 2016
- support for recycling and neutralization of pollutants by the Reclycum eco-organization since 2012
- accelerated development of LED technologies
The advantages of Relamping
According to a study conducted by the Lighting Trade Union, 80% of the lighting systems of companies are composed of energy-consuming and obsolete lighting lamps. In this context, Relamping makes it possible to upgrade these lighting systems (offices, premises, industrial, warehouses, retail spaces, etc.) by replacing energy-consuming solutions with LED luminaires, all without modifying the existing electrical infrastructure.
The immediate benefit of Relamping LED is therefore of an economic nature:
- Reduction of electricity consumption, an LED bulb consuming on average 2 to 5 times less than a conventional light bulb
- Optimization of maintenance costs, the average service life of an LED bulb is on average 50 000 hours (5 to 7 years of actual use) the maintenance budget is divided by 10
In the end, the audits carried out to prove that Relamping would allow the tertiary sector to save more than 750 € per year and per m² of office space at the same level of lighting.
The second benefit of Relamping: its direct impact on the well-being of employees. Indeed, the optimization of the lighting environment and the control of the quality of light contributes to creating favorable working conditions, increasing the productivity of the employees. How to make a successful LED Relamping
Renewing your lighting system cannot be improvised. Upstream a technical and economic assessment must be made, an inventory of the current system to be able to propose an optimum implementation plan. For existing installations, specific software can accurately obtain the return on investment of a Relamping LED.
