To choose the right waterproof LED light, it is important to check the level of protection of the LED. The protection rating is indicated by the letters “IP  " ( ingress protection in English) followed by two digits. The first indicates the level of protection against solids and the second represents the degree of protection against liquids.



Anyone looking for lighting wants it to be durable and safe. Waterproof luminaires have an IP44 to an IP68 rating and can be used indoors and outdoors. However, waterproof luminaires designed for outdoor use have an IP65 rating (see IP66, IP67) and are impervious to dust and splashing water in all directions.
